The AAV removes air pockets from within a central heating system, making sure that the system doesn't display behaviours such as strange noises and increased corrosion. The Automatic Air Vent, as the name suggests, performs its job automatically, without any need for orders from the PCB. A float within the AAV monitors the system water level and allows air to be vented. If the level of the water is high, the air discharge hole is blocked by the float, if the water level is low, air can escape as the discharge hole is no longer blocked.
