The Heat Exchanger is responsible for the transfer of heat between the burner and water within the system. There are two common types of heat exchanger that are found within a boiler: The main heat exchanger and the plate heat exchanger. The most common is the primary heat exchanger which is present in most boilers and transfers the heat from the burner to the water in the system. The secondary heat exchanger, however, is present in combi boilers and is responsible for the transfer of heat between two independent closed systems.
