The Automatic Air Vent removes air pockets which can build up inside a closed water system, ensuring that the system does not become airlocked. Unlike most components within a boiler, the AAV does not need to receive signals from the PCB to activate. There is a float built in to the AAV which monitors the system water level and allows air to be vented. When the water level is high, the float will block the air discharge hole, if the water level is low, the holes are no longer blocked and the air can escape.
