The Automatic Air Vent removes air pockets from inside a central heating system, making sure that the system doesn't display behaviours such as strange noises and increased corrosion. Unlike most components within a boiler, the AAV does not need to receive signals from the PCB to activate. A float within the AAV monitors the system water level and allows air to be vented. If the level of the water is high, the air discharge hole is blocked by the float, if the water level is low, the holes are no longer blocked and the air can escape.
