The Automatic Air Vent allows the release of air pockets from within a central heating system, making sure that the system does not become airlocked. The Automatic Air Vent does not need to receive instructions from the PCB. There is a float built in to the AAV which monitors the system water level and allows air to be vented. If the level of the water is high, the air discharge hole is blocked by the float, when the level of the water is low, the holes are no longer blocked and the air can escape.
