The Heat Exchanger ensures that heat is transferred from the combustion chamber to the water within a system. Inside a boiler, you usually find 2 main types of heat exchanger: The domestic heat exchanger and the main heat exchanger. Almost all boilers have a primary heat exchanger which allows generated heat to be passed in to the water system. Alternatively, the plate heat exchanger is present alongside the primary heat exchanger in combination boilers and allows heat transfers between closed systems.
