The AAV allows the release of air pockets that are present within a closed water system, making sure that the system doesn't display behaviours such as strange noises and increased corrosion. Unlike most components within a boiler, the AAV does not need to receive signals from the PCB to activate. A float within the AAV matches the water level within the system and provides an ideal way to release air whilst preventing the escape of water. When the water level is high, the float will block the air discharge hole, if the water level is low, air can escape as the discharge hole is no longer blocked.
