The AAV allows the release of air bubbles which can build up inside a closed water system, ensuring that the system does not become airlocked. Unlike most components within a boiler, the AAV does not need to receive signals from the PCB to activate. There is a float built in to the AAV which monitors the system water level and provides an ideal way to release air whilst preventing the escape of water. If the level of the water is high, the float will block the air discharge hole, if the water level is low, air can escape as the discharge hole is no longer blocked.
