Glowworm S202609 Electrode

In most boilers, there are two types of Electrodes : The Ignition Electrode (sometimes known as the Spark Electrode) and the Flame sensing Electrode. A Spark Electrode produces an electronically generated spark to ignite the gases within the combustion chamber. The flame is then monitored by the Flame Sensing Electrode which ensures that a flame is present inside the burner. This important safety feature prevents gas from flooding the burner if the flame has been extinguished.
