Cannon 6900112 Thermocouple

A thermocouple is a safety device that restricts unburnt gas from flooding the boiler when there is no flame detected. One end is positioned within or just above the pilot flame, the opposite end is fitted to a volt sensor that controls the gas valve. When the pilot end detects a flame the valve receives a small current, notifying it to stay open. When there is no signal, the valve remains closed.
