This Heat Exchanger passes heat into the water within the system. There are two common types of heat exchanger that are found within a boiler: A primary heat exchanger and a secondary heat exchanger (also known as a domestic hot water heat exchanger or a plate heat exchanger). The most common is the primary heat exchanger which is present in most boilers and transfers the heat from the burner to the water in the system. Alternatively, the plate heat exchanger can only be found in combination boilers and is responsible for heat transference between closed systems.
