The AAV removes air pockets which can build up inside a closed water system, ensuring that the system does not become airlocked. Unlike most components within a boiler, the AAV does not need to receive signals from the PCB to activate. A float within the AAV monitors the system water level and provides an ideal way to release air whilst preventing the escape of water. If the level of the water is high, the float will block the air discharge hole, if the water level is low, the holes are no longer blocked and the air can escape.
