You will find 2 main types of Electrodes within most boilers The Flame Monitoring Electrode (also known as the Flame Sensing Electrode) and the Spark Electrode (also known as the Ignition Electrode). A Spark Electrode produces an electronically generated spark to ignite the gases within the combustion chamber. The flame is then monitored by the Flame Sensing Electrode which makes sure that a flame is present within the combustion chamber. This feature is critical as it stop gas from being supplied if the flame goes out.
