The AAV removes air pockets from within a closed water system, making sure that the system does not become airlocked. Unlike most components within a boiler, the AAV does not need to receive signals from the PCB to activate. A float within the AAV monitors the system water level and allows air to be vented. When the water level is high, the float will block the air discharge hole, when the level of the water is low, air can escape as the discharge hole is no longer blocked.
