Ideal 136744 Electrode

In most boilers, there are two types of Electrodes : The Flame Monitoring Electrode (also known as the Flame Sensing Electrode) and the Spark Electrode (also known as the Ignition Electrode). When there is a need to activate the boiler, the PCB relays commands to the Spark Electrode which then produces an electronically generated spark to ignite the gases within the combustion chamber. The flame is then monitored by the Flame Sensing Electrode which ensures that the flame started by the spark electrode is still present inside the burner. This important safety feature prevents gas from flooding the burner if the flame has been extinguished.
