The AAV allows the release of air pockets that are present within a central heating system, making sure that the system doesn't display behaviours such as strange noises and increased corrosion. Unlike most components within a boiler, the AAV does not need to receive signals from the PCB to activate. A float within the AAV monitors the system water level and allows air to be vented. If the level of the water is high, the air discharge hole is blocked by the float, if the water level is low, air can escape as the discharge hole is no longer blocked.
