Glowworm S900002 Thermocouple

A thermocouple is a safety device that restricts unburnt gas from building up within the appliance when the pilot light is out. One end is positioned within or just above the pilot flame, the other is attached to a volt sensor that operates the gas valve. When the pilot end encounters a flame the valve receives a small current, instructing it to remain open. When no signal is sent, the valve stays closed.
