You will find 2 main types of Electrodes within most boilers The Flame Monitoring Electrode (also known as the Flame Sensing Electrode) and the Spark Electrode (also known as the Ignition Electrode). The Spark Electrode utilises a spark to ignite the fuel inside the burner and begin the combustion process. A Flame Sensing Electrode, on the other hand, makes sure that a flame is present inside the burner. This feature is critical as it stop gas from being supplied if the flame goes out.
