The AAV removes air pockets that are present within a closed water system, ensuring that this system does not become airlocked. The Automatic Air Vent, as the name suggests, performs its job automatically, without any need for orders from the PCB. There is a float built in to the AAV which monitors the system water level and allows air to be vented. When the water level is high, the air discharge hole is blocked by the float, when the level of the water is low, air can escape as the discharge hole is no longer blocked.
