You will find 2 main types of Electrodes within most boilers 1) The Spark Electrode and 2) the Flame Sensing Electrode. The Spark Electrode produces a spark to ignite the gases within the combustion chamber. The flame is then monitored by the Flame Sensing Electrode which ensures that a flame is present within the combustion chamber. This feature is critical as it stop gas from being supplied if the flame has been extinguished.
