The AAV removes air bubbles from within a closed water system, making sure that this system does not become airlocked. Unlike most components within a boiler, the AAV does not need to receive signals from the PCB to activate. There is a float built in to the AAV which matches the water level within the system and provides an ideal way to release air whilst preventing the escape of water. If the level of the water is high, the air discharge hole is blocked by the float, if the water level is low, air can escape as the discharge hole is no longer blocked.
